BNY Mellon Depositary Receipts published, in partnership with Debevoise and Plimpton, a Q&A outlining key details and insights around possible scenarios should proposed amendments to the U.S. proxy rules to regulate proxy advisors be adopted. The paper also provides intelligence into the applicability for foreign issuers. At present, the proposed rules are standing for comment in compliance with the SEC’s 60-day comment period, which is scheduled to end on February 3, 2020.

BNY Mellon’s Depositary Receipts Global Investor Relations Advisory team published Disclosure on Gender Diversity as part of its IR Best Practices Insights series. The paper provides insights for corporate issuers for best practices on gender diversity disclosure with an exploration of the networks and coalitions that focus on and advocate for gender diversity. Also highlighted are the ESG ratings agencies that have developed workforce gender diversity scoring methodologies to identify companies demonstrating best practices.

2019 was a big year for BNY Mellon’s Depositary Receipts business. The bank received Global Finance’s first-ever global award for the best Depositary Receipts Bank.
